Exciting Reads is sharing a good book which is something I love to do. Especially with someone who loves to read as I do. However, there is a catch to that, I only enjoy reading fiction. I like to read stories that take me to a different and special place, time, or situation. I believe non-fiction is for that serious reader. A good book is the same to me as a good and memorable movie. Some of the books I have read have been made into exciting and memorable movies. Therefore, with that said, I have prepared a list of Exciting Reads to stimulate your reading appetite. I would like to add that this page is for information on new reading material and you can check back often to see what new books I have added to this list. Any book on the list can be purchased through your Kindle, Amazon, or your favorite book store. My Current List of Authors
Terry Goodkind – I discovered this author years ago when he was just starting to write his Sword of Truth Series. (No this not another Harry Potter Series). When I read the first book Wizard’s First Rule, I was hooked. Yes it has to do with Wizards and other Mystical creatures but truly on an adult scale in a Mystical land. I recently found out that Terry Goodkind passed away after giving us over 30 books of his fantastic stories. There are a small portion of his writings are books written in a contemporary setting. So in order to get your reading enjoyment with Terry Goodkind I would suggest you start with Wizards First Rule.
J. D. Robb – This author writes murder mysteries which are based in the future. Each title ends with in Death. I believe the first book was Naked In Death, then Glory In Death. The lead character is a lady detective and her job is to find out who has committed the crime of murder. Any of these books are a good read.
Janet Evanovich – Her books take a murder mystery to a different level. The main character in most of her books experiences usually comical situations. She will make you laugh out loud as the murder is been investigated. She has written many books all are good reads. I would like to suggest some of her first books titled One For The Money, and then Two For The Dough, all of the following titles having a number sequence.
Diana Gabaldon – Quote from her book cover “Diana Gabaldon brilliant storytelling has captivated millions of readers in her bestselling and award-winning Outlander Saga. Gabaldon tells the extraordinary story of the eighteenth-century Scotsman and his twentieth-century time traveling wife. The story starts with the book “Outlander” and progress through several more books. The books have been made into an ongoing series now being shown on Hulu and Starz. It is now in its 6th season.
Judith McNaught – She is one of my all-time favorites when it comes to Romance Stories especially historical romance. I had the honor of personally meeting her years ago. Her daughter was one of my co-workers. That meeting gave me the honor of getting a book signed by her. The only signed book in my extensive collection. She knows how to tell a love story that keeps you inspired and reading to the end. And when you finish that book you want to pick up another by Ms. McNaught, just to relive the emotion you had just completed. All of her books are good, however, I would like to recommend these three books to start. “A Kingdom of Dreams, Whitney My Love, and Until You”, in any sequence. I have read these books and more several times. Enjoy!!
Stephen King – The author of all things that frighten you and give you nightmares. I have read many of his books especially his earlier writings. As you well know nearly all of his books have been made into movies. At one time I tried to keep up with every book he wrote. However, there was one book he wrote which did not receive any publicity and was not made into a movie, but was one of the scariest book I read in all of his collections. That book is called “Gerald’s Game”. If you have not read this book by Stephen King, and want to be scared out of your wits, I dare you to pick up a copy and try your nerve.
